Good breakfast place, service is always spot on. Food is inconsistent but usually good.

Love the burgers here.. The main bartender Simon is an awesome guy.. I love coming here because they pour their beers to the rim.. even on happy hour. Across the street is Bin4 but if you want a real good burger cross the street and visit Caffe Barney's. This is my go to place if I wanna drink beer read a book at the bar and have an awesome burger. YOU won't be disappointed. You feel relaxed and welcome here.

A much appreciated cafe in Vancouver, seems like it has always been there (at least it has for a few decades)

When my brother is in town we hunt for the best Benny’s, first time here and not disappointed, Food was good, we went on weekday for brunch, it was not busy. Service was ok.

I've been going to this place for 20 years and have never been disappointed. Favourite spot for brunch in the city!

Went in to order a burger to go. Asked the waitress for a menu and she pointed to a stack of menus. As I was reading one, the big bartender called out to me and told me to keep my eyes on the waitresses face, as if I was looking at her chest. I didn't, but now everyone at the bar thought I had. He then tried to pass it off as a joke and to lighten up. Wonderful man. Wonderful place. I won't be back.

Crowded,noisy, and very poor service and food quality. Pricey dishes.

Service was solid, food was alright. Went for breakfast and it was decent. Had better and have definitely had a lot worse!

Always loved this spot. Really good for breakfast, Sunday dinner (they keep all their weekly specials going at once on Sundays), and happy hour. I especially like their breakfast - the benny's are delicious. If you're hungover one weekend and not feeling like meat but want a rich delicious hangover breakfast, modify a benny and get one with tomatoe, avocado and brie. I've done it multiple times and it's always a winner.

A new find for me. Great service and the bartender was terrific. Chatty and friendly. Live music in a local venue is stellar.

Nice old favourite. Been going here for years and always left happy. Not groundbreaking or novel food, but great traditional style breakfast fare. This place can get busy and doesn't have massive amounts of seating, so be aware if you go there during the peak times...

Lovely patio out back. Good beers, good food! Often it is one of the few places open early enough for my preferences.

Don’t let this humble restaurant/bar fall under your radar—it has amazing food, drinks, and service. Braden and the employees are incredibly friendly, the BINGO night on Wednesday is super fun. You get a cool crowd any night of the week. Totally a quality place you don’t want to miss!

Food was good. Coffee it so much. As I had Eggs Benny in the morning, it was quiet in the restaurant. Service was friendly but not very attentive or helpful. For the food, I'd recommend this place.

Extraordinary food and beverage menu. We spent an evening (or two...) at Caffe Barney during a recent visit to Vancouver. The squid was a favorite as was the sauteed broccoli appetizers. Definitely must haves. Be sure to see bartender Szymon for his newest drink creation. He is a wizardly genius behind the bar!

These folk make one of the most attractive insanely GOOD short doppio machiato -- it's that good!

Great pub style restaurant. The brunch menu is great and dinner is good for late night eats after the theater. One caveat, it's a bit loud if you go late.

after being closed for renovation for many months, they're open again, better than ever!this is a great neighborhood restaurant, with helpful attentive staff. there are loads of trendy and hip places to eat throughout Vancouver, but if you want to taste a bit of an authentic neighborhood cafe... this is the place!

Ok so I don't usually take a lot of time to post about every place I go to, but last night was one of those rare night I went to a new place and had an amazing time and received some of the best service from bartending staff in a busy place that I've ever received. I went to this place for a quick bit to eat and had many pleasant interactions with a bartender there named molly? Holly? Anyways clearly she was busy and still she managed to get us our drinks quickly with a smile and a really great attitude and an awesome wit. She really made an effort to get everyone their drinks quickly even though she was clearly dealing with many orders. A quick stop turned into a good time at a place i'll most definitely be going back to this place again.

Really great local restaurant. A favorite for weekend brunch and lunch alike. I had the burger and it was one of the best I've had. Homemade goodness right there. There's also a rotating display of local artwork to enjoy and purchase if you're so inclined.

Coffee shops are mental help, and I will never take one for granted again. Thank you for Caffe Barney and the Bean on Granville for staying open during the quarantine and letting us enjoy that beautiful intoxicating smell of a coffee shop. Thank you for being an art gallery too. All the virtual tours of the world class museums are no comparison to standing in front of your art pieces by local artists. The staff was friendly and the takeout menu offered everything we miss about going out.

Went in a few weeks back - food was gross. Bar Manager was quite harsh as well. We were in a rush to get to the theatre. Don’t bother going. It’s a dump. In the 1990s, used to be a great place, not so much now.

Chill place, nice staff. Lots of vegetarian snack options and affordable. A nice unpretentious change from the snazzier joints on S Granville.

Cute spot! They get their coffee from Bean Around the World next door, which is a big bonus in my books. Honoured a super old gift certificate that me and my Aunt came. I had the pork wrap, which was very yummy, and the fries were killer. Staff were attentive and kind.

Had a delicious chorizo benedict for Brunch! Enjoyed the atmosphere, music was excellent, looking forward to the open mics! Glad I finally took time to sit in and eat here, will be back again soon!

This is a great place for breakfast. I went yesterday. I enjoyed the service, the atmosphere and the location. It is right on Granville St. and at least three bus routes to the downtown. What could be better? It's good food, great price and excellent service!👍

Had a chicken schnitzel burger with fries and mini donuts with lemon cream and chocolate dips. The chicken burger was massive, especially the schnitzel. It was covered by cheese and I could barely finish it. The donut was very hot and the lemon cream didn't sit too well on top of the donut as it just melts away right after. The chocolate dip was perfect and actually lemon cream's citrus taste was great to mix with. My friend enjoyed his salmon scramble as well. Overall, it wasn't that busy on a Monday noon. I loved their bar area and a server was very nice.

Caffe Barney has the best nachos in town! My husband and I love coming here for a drink after a long day. Love the overall atmosphere of the place, the staff are friendly and genuinely nice. I really like the Canadian Australian fusion food. The first time we had the drummettes we were like..WHAT IS A DRUMMETTE?! But we ended up getting it and it was delicious.

Great quality great portions. If the menu suits you...you'll love it. And it will be a place you cant miss for sure.Go now check out their menu and enjoy it. Everything is made in house. Id recomend the owner to have more omelets added to the menu. Other than that great place.Ah! Forgot to mention you can have alcohol here Pretty good if you feel like having a glass of something.

Good neighborhood place to go

Good breakfast place. Prices are decent. Portions are big. Friendly staff. Fried Chicken waffle was tasty.

Whenever I get a craving for my favourite ancestral Big English Breakfast, I head on down to Caffe Barney. Laden with bacon, bangers, fried potatoes and perfectly cooked eggs, and accompanied with baked beans, mushrooms and grilled tomatoes (and a side of toast), my plate never disappoints. Great service, licensed, & great coffee too!Caffe Barney also has an artsy ambiance, as it is also a gallery displaying local artwork, which is alway well worth a look. The display changes regularly, and the items are for sale.

This place always has such a lovely vibe and the food is fantastic.
